SUMMARY
The book Paper Towns, is about two childhood friends and how their lives have changed. Quentin turned out to be a “nerd”, and Margo became the most popular girl in school. In the middle of the night, Quentin hears a tapping on his window; he opens it to find Margo, standing on a ladder asking for his help. He agrees and they go on trip to get payback from people who have wronged her. Her boyfriend, her best friend, even her teacher. After their fun little trip, Margo states that she missed hanging out with him and that she will miss him. The next day Margo goes missing and no one seems to have a clue where she went except Quentin.

LOVE STORY
The love story involved in this book is one that we all saw coming, I mean come on, two childhood friends? If that doesn’t scream love then I don’t know what does. All throughout high school Quentin had a crush on Margo, but she was too “popular” for him so he never said anything about it. Margo on the other hand seems to never notice him. She is always enthralled in her own problems that she never realizes the flirting glances he’s been giving her.
WHAT MAKES IT TRAGIC
What makes this love story a tragic one is the fact that Margo runs away just after she hints at liking him. The whole book he looks for her and you never know if she’s dead, just ran away, or if she was kidnapped. Quentin is worried sick but he comes to the realization, what if she wouldn’t care enough to look for him. Then the book pulls a whole, “I don’t know if I love her” move, further adding to the suspense and tragedy of the novel.
REVIEW/RECOMMMENDATION
This book really is one that you cannot put down. It was one of those that kept you up at night not knowing if you would be able to sleep because you were either thinking about what just happened or the fact that you just can’t stop reading. John Green is a brilliant author who wrote many award winning books and one of which is now a movie. He has a way of making cliffhangers and page turners that make it so that you cannot put this book down. I give this book five out of five stars.  I would recommend this book to anyone who loves love stories that make you sad and angry enough to throw the book at the wall. To anyone who loves laughing and crying at the same time. This I sa great book and you will absolutely love it if you read THE Fault in our Stars. It is along the same lines of that book but without the cancer. This book needs to be purchased by you and read and reread until you can preach it to someone. Please note however that this book should not be read by anyone under the “Young Adult” age range, for it has some very PG-13 parts to it that should not be read by a child. (WC 522)

  1. This book seems suspenseful yet loving all at the same time. Some parts of this book, though, seem predictable. as you said in your summary, it is a childhood romance. this book deals with some of teens real "dramas" of today. this book could easily be relatable to teens today. I will definitely read this book because of the story line and also John Green is an amazing author.

  2. This book looks very interesting. I will definitely be reading it soon. As you said, it is kind of similar to The Fault in Our Stars, but with a few major details. I think your summary was well-written as it revealed not too much info but not too little.

  3. I agree that this book was very tragic and sad, but i also found it very funny. Quentin's friends, Ben and Radar were hilarious throughout the book. They all have unique senses of humor, which are fairly dark, given the circumstances. Without the humor in this book, i feel like it wouldn't be as popular and well-liked. The funny characters in all of John Green's books are what make me like them so much.

  4. I agree that John Green has a very unique way of writing, and can make any book interesting to the point where you can't stop reading. This story, from your summary and review, sound like a John Green book, and sound like something a lot of people would enjoy, also sounding like The Fault In Our Stars in the way that the main characters both lose their loves, and also in the way that it includes humor while also making it sad and heart touching. This book sounds well-written and I will have to read it.

  5. I can't wait to read this book it's sounds like such a good read. You did an incredible job reviewing the book. The part with Quentin asking himself if he still likes Margo makes me want to review this book even more. The section of your blog where recommended the Fault in our Stars was a great choice. If Paper Towns is like the Fault in our Stars I can't wait to read.

  6. By the way that you described the book in general, makes me want to read it. The deep detail made a very vivid picture in my mind. I can also relate to this book from its love point of view, with my book as well. The Power of Six by Pittocus Lore had many parts of it where close friends became more than freinds at some point. With that connection, i can say that i will soon read this book.

  8. After reading your review, i know i am going to have a hard time putting this book down. You did a great job of summarizing the book without spoiling anything. I agree that John Green is a brilliant author who has written many other award-winning books. It was a good choice to say that anyone who read The Fault in our Stars will love this book, because The Fault in our Stars is such a popular and well-written book. Based on your review you may enjoy Romeo and Juliet because of the romance and friendship between characters. You did a great job and i can't wait to get my hands on this book!

  9. This is a really great review! It gives enough detail about the book that it makes you want to read it but not so much that you know the entire plot. I'm not really a big fan of John Green but I definitely want to read this book now. I think this book will be a bit more relatable for me then TFIOS was ( I do love TFIOS though). I'm excited to start reading this book now.

  10. The love story in this book does indeed seem very tragic. I can see how it is a page turner for the hopeless romantics. You did a very good job of incorporating the theme of your blog in this review. You also didn't spoil the entire plot in your review. Your review is well written and makes me want to read it.
